Suzhal – The Vortex 2 review: Created by Pushkar and Gayatri, Suzhal – The Vortex 2 is a crime drama that suffers from overstuffed ideas. The show has interesting ideas, but it gets lost in the overstretched screenplay.
In Short
- Suzhal – The Vortex 2 is streaming on Prime Video
- The show follows the same pattern as Suzhal – The Vortex
- While certain takeaways are thoughtful, the show suffers due to cliches

HERE IS TRAILER.
The design of Suzhal – The Vortex 2 by Pushkar and Gayathri is similar to that of its predecessor. The rural-based crime drama is told parallelly against the backdrop of a village festival. In the first part, it was the Mayanakollai festival; in the second, it is the Ashtakaali festival. The story of eight goddesses uniting to defeat the demon is told at the Ashtakaali festival. Here, it’s the eight women, who are lodged in the same prison as Nandhini, looking for their demon. Although the concept sounds interesting and has a lot of potential to be a thrilling show, it kind of veers off course as the story progresses and has too many ideas.
In Suzhal: The Vortex 2, Kathir is effective in leading the investigation using even the tiniest of clues. But instead of showing you, the show tells you. Suzhal’s first few episodes are gripping because they slowly introduce you to the many characters and their goals. And the introduction of the right women to surrender themselves to the police is a tastefully done sequence that elevates the show.
